About the hall

  • Two doors with two wash bays
  • Each bay has room for four cars, but is used by one. You get space around the car, not a narrow box
  • Indoors, dry and well lit. No washing outside in sleet

  • Open all four doors fully, and reach into the door frames.
  • Take the mats out and lay them on the floor while you rinse.
  • Walk around the whole car with the foam lance, without reversing or squeezing past a wall.
  • Put your bucket and kit down beside the car without moving it around.
  • Two people can work on the same car without getting in each other's way.
  • Take your time on rims and wheel arches, where the road salt settles.

The space is why you can actually do the job properly, instead of squeezing around the car in a tight box.

How it works

    Drive into the hall

    Pick a free door and drive in. The bay is yours while you wash.

  2. 2

    Apply foam and degreaser

    Snow foam loosens the dirt before you touch the paint. Degreaser for what is stuck on.

  3. 3

    Wash and rinse

    Use the brush, the sponges and the wheel cleaner, and rinse from the top down.

  4. 4

    Drive out dry

    The car dries indoors, so the doors do not freeze shut on the way out. A normal wash takes 15 to 20 minutes.

  1. Pre-wash and degreaser

    Plus 1 to 3 minutes of dwell time before you rinse.

    2 to 3 minutes

  2. Pressure rinse

    Rinse from the top down, and do the wheel arches.

    3 to 5 minutes

  3. Foam and brushing

    Over the whole car, with foam and a brush.

    4 to 6 minutes

  4. Rinse off and wax

    Rinse off and finish with wax.

    3 to 4 minutes

Altogether that is around 15 to 20 minutes for a normal wash.

The site has a vending machine with drinks, food and snacks if you need a break along the way.

Why wash more often in winter

Road salt stays on the paint and under the car, and keeps working as long as it sits there. Washing indoors means you actually deal with it instead of waiting for milder weather.

Årvollveien 23 has fast charging, a self service wash and a tyre workshop in the same building. You do it all in one visit.
